I am a single mother of a 17 yr. old son with ADD (attention) and a 13 yr. old daughter with acute ADHD/anxiety. I have always raised them by myself, and finished my undergraduate degree (and will soon have my masters) all while working full time and caring for these amazing kids. They are successful in school, have many friends, and are well-behaved/managed at home. It is HARD doing the exhausting work of creating and maintaining routines, addressing behavior and applying consequences (i.e. getting off the couch to manage my home, even when I'm tired), and trying to stay one step ahead of their needs and head off problems before they escalate. I have read so many crazy websites and blogs, looking for support and wisdom, but your page BY FAR is the most credible and balanced that I've read. I find this an invaluable resource and am so THANKFUL to have found this site! Thank you!
