About ADHD Specialists

ADHD Specialists strives to provide the highest quality of mental and behavioral health care services. We recognize that each individual has unique needs arising from a distinct set of social, cultural and personal circumstances.  We treat children, adolescents, college students, graduate students, adults, and couples with ADD/ADHD and co-occuring conditions.  ADHD Specialists makes available a broad array of professional services allowing us to tailor our treatment to the specific needs of each client.  In most cases, a significant improvement in personal, academic and professional functioning can be achieved.

Most medical doctors who treat ADD/ADHD do so as part of a larger practice. ADHD Specialists focuses primarily on only treating ADD and related conditions. This intense focus allows us to continually sharpen our clinical skills, attend specialized training, utilize the latest therapies, and build our process to meet the specific needs of our clients.

Often medical, testing and counseling services are all separately owned and located practices. It just does not make sense to have to travel from one location to another to treat the same condition. Besides the issue of time and travel, how cohesive and effective is care being delivered in multiple locations by multiple, unrelated providers who don’t have time to talk to each other?

We are new to the internet and to blogging.  We are encouraging all our staff to participate in creating this blog.  Please feel free to add comments and let us know what you would like to see more of.

If you would like to have your questions answered, go to http://www.askadhdexperts.com.  In 2010, we plan to pick one question a week and answer that in the blog.

We are located in the northern area of Los Angeles, the San Fernando Valley, in the City of Encino, near the 405 and 101 freeway interchange. Visit us at http://www.adhdspecialists.com.

I am a single mother of a 17 yr. old son with ADD (attention) and a 13 yr. old daughter with acute ADHD/anxiety. I have always raised them by myself, and finished my undergraduate degree (and will soon have my masters) all while working full time and caring for these amazing kids. They are successful in school, have many friends, and are well-behaved/managed at home. It is HARD doing the exhausting work of creating and maintaining routines, addressing behavior and applying consequences (i.e. getting off the couch to manage my home, even when I’m tired), and trying to stay one step ahead of their needs and head off problems before they escalate. I have read so many crazy websites and blogs, looking for support and wisdom, but your page BY FAR is the most credible and balanced that I’ve read. I find this an invaluable resource and am so THANKFUL to have found this site! Thank you!
